Instagram just released its third standalone app and follow-up to Hyperlapse. Layout is, in its simplest form, a collage app. It's most straightforward use case is simply and artfully arranging a series of images into one Instagram-ready frame. However, while there are already apps on the market that do that, Layout is much more flexible and cleaner than your average post-production app. It is also the latest example of Mark Zuckerberg's plan to create an array of apps for specific mobile tasks.

Following the trend of sharing multiple images in one (especially popular newly-created online habits like birthday selfies), Layout lets you combine up to nine images. The templates are automatically generated, all you do is select the photos you want to include, and Layout gives you options of how to arrange them. Once the images are selected, you can adjust each frame, and it's all optimized into one square, post-ready combination.
